This page lists out a few problems you might face and how to overcome
them.
The pages take too long to load up when I work from home
The pages were designed assuming that a student has a 28.8 kbps (the
slowest possible!) connection. So, if you keep having problems with
the speed with which the pages load up then you might consider using
a different internet access provider.
I keep getting a message that I need to download software.
The browser and plug-in requirements are listed on the first page.
You will need to have these components installed on the computer you
are using.
Proctor's webcam does not load.
The webcam works well on the following platforms:
- PC: Explorer and Netscape
- MAC: Explorer
- UNIX/Linux/Solaris: Netscape
I can't get .Net to work on the machines in the Lab.
Any problems you may have with the lab has to be addressed to the
Lab TA. They are responsible for the systems and their software.
